What beautiful piece of black metal. Hypnotic and atmospheric. An intense musical experience with some folk/doom influences.
It feels like walking through a finnish landscape on a cold winter night.

Epic black metal from New Zealand. I have listened to this many times indeed! If it was vinyl, it would be near to wearing out & starting to sound crackly! The contrasts of the vocals in the singing are amazing. Every song is fantastic so I simply cannot choose a favourite... :) It is shame that Chloe Bray left the band but I am warming to her replacement & hope to hear a new full album soon! Very highly recommended!!! bmurator

A truly stellar death/doom album with heavy doses of black metal. Tracks like Isolation, Child of Light, and Broken Hymns deliver the sorrowful and icy tone of this album, elevated by the stirring cello compositions of Raphael Weinroth-Browne. The album delivers a deeply satisfying crescendo in Becoming Intangible before stirring the soul once again with Epilogue. Matt Richardson

A lot of bands play a dark, gripping, and deeply emotional sound, but no one does it quite like Gaerea. Ive loved all their stuff up to this point, but they have truly topped themselves with Mirage. I believe this album is a masterpiece. seven skeletons
